Morning all...

With Easter but a few days away, I thought it fitting to write a small piece on fun Easter Egg facts... Did you know....

1)  The UK loves chocolate and we are currently the fourth country in the world for the most consumed Easter eggs behind Switzerland, Germany & Austria.

2)  The first chocolate Easter Egg was made by Fry's in 1873.

3)  The worlds largest egg was built in 2012 in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina for their annual chocolate festival and came in at a whopping 27ft tall!




 

4)  Approximately 80 million Easter eggs were sold in the UK in 2014.

 


5)  The Cadbury Creme Egg is the most popular egg in the world and was launched in 1971.  Now, over 200 million are sold each year in the UK alone.




6)  The worlds largest recorded Easter egg hunt took place at Cypress Gardens in Florida and attracted 9753 children searching for 501,000 eggs.



7)  In 2006, the worlds most expensive chocolate Easter Egg was made by La Maison du Chocolat in Paris and consisted of 100 0.5 carat diamonds and was 65cm (25in) tall.  It went on sale in their Piccadilly store in London for £50.000.

 

So there you have it.. some interesting facts to share whilst you eat your chocolate eggs this weekend.  Whatever you're doing this year, have a wonderful Easter and don't eat too much  :) oxox
